Animated Product Launch Video
The Pickleball Paddle in the Laboratory
One of the videos Diadem wanted wasn't for a specific product. They wanted to highlight their patented BluCore technology they use in the core of their premium pickleball paddles. The tone for this would be sciency/tech, very light and clean.
MOODBOARD
Using Pinterest and Midjourney, I aggregated a few looks to set the tone for the environment and some of the effects I planned to use. I thought a clean techy looking space with a floating pickleball paddle would work well.
STORYBOARDS
The video needed to address the core of a generic paddle, then highlight features like the density, rebound and strength. They also wanted to show a comparison to a honeycomb core which is a more standard material for pickleball paddle cores.
Animatic
The music selection needed to be light, airy and modern. We wanted the video to feel techy and informative but not corporate. The song fits perfectly and the animatic allows us to pace the visuals out.
STYLE FRAMES
They did not have a CAD model for the paddle but it is a simple enough shape to model easily. The handle was repurposed from the tennis racket handle. Originally I had the paddle white to really showcase the Blu...Core but later they wanted to change it to black to more accurately reflect some of their paddles.
